Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Interfaith leaders from Asian countries will meet in Jakarta on May 14 - 17, 2008 to discuss main issues that will be brought to the Asian Conference on Religions for Peace (ACRP), the organizers said.
"A total of 35 interfaith leaders will take part in the ACRP preliminary meeting which will be opened by Vice President Jusuf Kalla on May 14," Chairman of the Indonesian Committee on Religions for Peace (IComRP), Din Syamsuddin said here on Friday.
Syamsuddin said that the seventh ACRP meeting would discuss five main topics, namely efforts to create peace through security and conflict transformation, uphold human rights, respect universal values and community development, create sustainable development and social justice and recover `old wounds` and building the future.
The results of the ACRP meeting are expected to contribute significantly to peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.
