VIZIO, America's HDTV and Consumer Electronics Company, announced today that according to preliminary iSuppli reports VIZIO is the #1 shipper of LCD HDTVs in North America at 21.6%*, with a 69% increase YOY.

VIZIO's successful YOY sales includes 258% Full HD 1080p growth, "We at VIZIO are bringing the most sought after technology to more consumers and we are excited to offer Full HD 1080P LCD HDTVs in sizes from 22" all the way to 55"," says Laynie Newsome, VIZIO Co-Founder and VP Sales & Marketing Communications.

VIZIO also experienced quarter over quarter growth with 46% increase in Full HD 120Hz sets and 19% increase in 42" and above size TVs. VIZIO HDTVs are merchandised with the most efficient retail partners in the industry like Costco Wholesale, Walmart, Sam's Club, and Target stores who all merchandise HDTVs at incredible values. LCD TV unit shipments grew 21% from 1,116,428 in the final quarter of 2008 to 1,351,860 in Q'1 2009. With plasma HDTVs added to the results VIZIO shipped a total of 1,400,207 TVs for the quarter and will also rank #1 in U.S. sales of total flat panel HDTVs.
