Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Jusuf Kalla held a closed-door meeting with top executives of gas and oil companies here on Wednesday.

The meeting at the State Secretariat at 2 in the afternoon was also attended by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, State Enterprises Ministe Sofyan Djalil, Environment Minister Rahmat Witoelar, Forestry Minister MS Kaban, and National Police Chief Gen. Sutanto.

Other state officials present at the meeting were PT Pertamina President Director Ari Soemarno and Oil and Gas Regulatory Board (BP Migas) chief Priyono.

Energy Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said the meeting was conducted to give the president and vice president an opportunity to meet oil and gas concession holders - most of whom are foreign companies - face-to-face.

"Issues related with oil and gas were discussed in the meeting," Purnomo said, adding that in his address, President Yudhoyono explained that the Indonesian government had made a series of efforts at intenational level to respond to current developments in the energy situation.
