Johor Bahru, Malaysia (ANTARA News) - All Indonesian men`s doubles completed successfully the first round of the Badminton Asia Championship 2008 taking place on the Bandaraya Stadium, Johor Bahru, on Thursday.

Started on April 15, the championship will last until April 20.

The fourth-seeded Alvent Yulianto Chandra/Luluk Hadiyanto beat India`s Rupesh Kumar/Senave Thomas 21-7, 23-21.

New Indonesia`s men doubles Candra Wijaya/Nova Widianto, meanwhile beat Nepalese men doubles Pashupati Paneru/Balaram Thapa 21-4, 21-12.

Candra who was usually pairing with Toni Gunawan to represent the United States was now representing Indonesia for the first time.

"We win in the first set and we tried to fight in the second set and we won the match," Candra said after the game.

Another men`s doubles, Hendra Gunawan/Joko Riyadi beat Thai rivals Songphon Anugritayawon/Tesana Panvisavas in a stright set 21-12, 21-13.

First-seeded Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah of Malaysia, fifth-seeded Hwang Ji Man-Lee Jae Jin of South Korea and Japanese doubles Shintaro Ikeda/Shuichi Sakamoto also completed the round successfully and will move on to the second round.

Meanwhile, two Indonesia`s women`s doubles, namely Vita Marissa/Liliyana Natsir and Jo Novita/Greysia Polii, booked victory in the first round, while Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nursugianti lost the match.

The fourth-seeded Vita/Liliyana beat Sujana Shrestha/Sumina Shrestha of Nepal 21-11, 21-9, while Jo Novita/Greysia Polii got a wlak over victory against Yana Katerinich/Anna Smirnova of Uzbekhistan and Rani/Endang was defeated by Japanese Miyuki Maeda-Satoko Suetsuna 21-23, 14-21.

Indonesian mix-doubles Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir will meet with South Korea`s pairs Hwang Ji Man/Kim Min Jung this night, while Anggun Nugroho/Endang Nursugianti will meet with India`s Diju/Jwala P Gutta.

The fifth-seeded men`s singles Sony Kuncoro will meet with Hsieh Yu Shien of Taiwan, the 10th-seeded Simon Santoso will meet with 4th-seeded Chinese singles Chen Jin.
