President: we need a solution, not anger

Jambi, (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said the Indonesian people is currently in need of a solution to improve the national economy and not finding faults or venting anger everywhere.

"Venting anger everywhere would solve nothing, we must find a solution," the president said when opening the 15th National Family Planning Day in Muarosabak, East Tanjung Jabung district, Jambi province, on Sunday.

The head of state made the remarks in response to recent mass protest against the fuel oil price hikes which had prompted many people to vent their anger to the government. Actually it was not only Indonesia with a brunt against high world oil price and almost all countries in the world were also suppressed by it.

However, the president highly welcomed and appreciated the program of Jambi Governor Zulkifli Nurdin like rejuvanating smallholder rubber trees, improving the quality of education and health and cultivating castor oil plants as an alternative to fuel oil.

Then, 30 million cubic meters of gas will be turned into LPG or substitute oil to gas or bricquettes.

"I highly welcome the program of the Jambi governor in finding a solution. This nation needs this. Hopefully other regions will be able to pursue a similar step to free Indonesia from various problems," he said.

The government kept on taking innovative steps to build the national economy and promote the people`s welfare. Therefore, cooperation between the central and provincial administrations should be synergized.
